If any of you have played the original Homeworld you know that it was one of the best space Real Time Strategy games because it actually allowed you do move in every direction and displayed beautiful graphics for the time.
--
This game presents exactly the same way, you get a full sphere in space to move in, harvest resources, and wage war. The graphics are beautiful, cinematic quality at times, and will hardly slow down on current day computers.
You still control the Hiigaran mothership and fleet, and have to make tactical decisions to utilize each space-crafts strength and avoid their weaknesses. The difficulty is practically the same as Homeworld's, you carry on resources and vessels from previous missions, which can be tough at times, seeing as a mistake in one mission will leave you like a fish on dry land for the next one.
--
Pros: Full-fledged space combat. No true structures, everything can move. Can have massive multiplayer battles with six players.
Cons: Single player can be difficult and may take multiple reloads. The Vaygr side can be difficult to get used to.
Overall: I'd give this game a 19 out of 20. Go pick this one up from a store and give it a spin.
A review of Homeworld 2, sequel to the 1999 Game of the Year.
